Henry Schouten
(1857 - 1927)


Henry Schouten (also mentioned as Henri Schouten) was a Belgian painter, born in Indonesia, ca. 1857, who is best known as an animal and landscape painter. He also used the pseudonym Joseph Klaas. He received his education at the Academy of Brussels (1876-1881). He was strongly influenced by the animal painter Alfred Verwee.
