Simon Simonsen
(1841 - 1928)

Simon Simonsen was a Danish animal painter, born in Munich. At age four his parents moved to Copenhagen where he studied at the Academy of Arts.
Simonsen liked to portray the animals in more or less moving situations and generally placed a lot of emphasis on the picture's content or narrative, on the interaction between the different animals or between them and humans.
