 Karl Heilmayer
(1829 - 1908)
 
Karl Heilmayer was a German landscape painter. Heilmayer was born as the son of the royal court actor and landscape painter Emil Heilmayr. On the 6th In November 1843 he began his studies at the Royal Academy of Arts in Munich, but abandoned it prematurely and continued to form his self-taught.
Heilmayer remained active in Munich and painted mainly fog and moonlight landscapes. In his search for picturesque areas, he undertook study trips to Upper Bavaria, Italy, South Tyrol, among other places. He also visited Belgium, France and Northern Germany.
