Augusto de Oliveira Gomes or just Augusto Gomes, was a Portuguese painter and teacher. He completed the General High School Course at Liceu Rodrigues de Freitas, Porto (finished in 1927). That year he enrolled in the Preparatory Course at the Porto School of Fine Arts and, later, in the Painting course, which he finished in 1941 and where he was a student of José de Brito, Acácio Lino and Joaquim Lopes.[1] Between the 1920s and 1930s he exhibited with the group +Além. After completing his course at the Porto School of Fine Arts, he dedicated himself to teaching, having taught at several schools (industrial schools in Bragança, Viana do Castelo and Viseu; Escola Faria Guimarães, Porto; Marquês de Pombal, Lisbon).
